Education and Training Unit

Course Fee Schedule May 2015

RTO no. 3688

The CFMEU Education and Training Unit endeavours to deliver quality training services to its learners at minimal or no cost to the learner. The following document outlines the fees and charges arrangements for prospective learners and the unit's refund policy.

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.

With the exception of Industry Induction (white card), in most instances the fees of construction workers who are registered with Incolink Fund 1 continue to be subsidised by the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund (BCITF).  Eligible workers will need to provide their Incolink registration number on application for courses.

Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG)

Students may be eligible for government funding provided they meet set criteria. Information regarding eligibility for the Victorian government training guarantee subsidy (VTG) and commensurate government subsidised rates is provided here for student reference. To be eligible for government subsidy under the Victorian Training Guarantee a student must show proof of their Australian citizenship, permanent visa or be a New Zealander and if over 20 must be seeking to gain a qualification higher than any qualification held at the time of the commencement of training. Holders of a Health Care Card issued by the Commonwealth, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran's Gold card will receive a concession on fees as detailed below.

The CFMEU is not a VET FEE-HELP provider.

Workplace English Language Literacy Program (WELL)

Workers needing additional language and literacy support will have this support funded under the Commonwealth government Workplace English Language and Literacy Program until July 2015. In order to deliver the LLN & literacy skills of all students, the mode of delivery for all CFMEU courses is face to face teaching.

Eligibility for industry and/or government subsidy and concessions will be confirmed as part of the enrolment process.

Fees

This schedule of fees represents the full (standard) cost of CFMEU courses. Where fees are charged, they will be invoiced upon completion of training. Information regarding payment is contained on the invoice - the CFMEU accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard), cheque and electronic funds transfers.  The CFMEU will not issue testamurs until invoices have been paid.

The CFMEU Education and Training Unit does not currently charge any additional fees for course materials, stationery or access to student services.

The CFMEU employs most of its training staff directly and does not usually use subcontractors for the delivery of training or assessment or for the brokering of students. Persons purporting to represent the CFMEU on training matters should be reported to the CFMEU on 9341-3444.

Refunds

With the exception of the construction industry induction (white card) training, the CFMEU does not usually charge upfront fees.  The policy applying to refunds for white card training and the limited instances where upfront fees apply is that:

  • The CFMEU will take all steps to ensure students are able to attend the courses of their choice and as such refunds will be discouraged.
  • Full refunds will be made to students if the training provider cancels or discontinues the course.
  • Money to be refunded is money the student actually paid and received at the time of cancellation of the course.
  • Students who withdraw from a course due to ill-health will receive a full refund or given the option to take up the course at a later date if they prefer.
  • The refund policy will be made known to all students on enrolment.

The following courses are subsidised under the Victorian Training Guarantee:

The following schedule of fees applies to students who are not in Incolink and/or are not eligible for subsidy from the industry training fund.  These courses are not subsidised under the VTG as they are not full qualifications (ie they are single competencies or short courses)
